Happy Sistaz Day!
It's Sistaz day today! This is probably our 5th Sistaz day.
How years just whiz by like that...
We started off as 3 then we had an addition.
But now we're back to the initial 3 again.
19th June.
This date we came up by adding our 4 bithdates together and then dividing it by 4 again.
day: 15+13+17+31=76 76 divide by 4= 19
month: 5+7+7+7=26 26 divide by 4= 6.5 (i dunno why we round it down but we did)
and so we got 19th June.
Cherie and Jia Hui were best friends since primary school.
I met both of them back in Sec 1 when we joined guides.
Our friendship was put to the test many a times
and we grew to be the best of friends...
to be the sisters that we never had.
At age 13 we met.
Those were the years that we learnt and we grew.
We learnt about love and about what relationships were.
We experienced our first love and our first kiss.
We discover things about the opposite gender that we never knew.
We found ourselves torn between more than one guy.
We had our fair share of suitors and crushes.
We fell in and out of love and had our fragile hearts broken.
Throughout our many joys and tears...
We had one another.
We were struggling with school and working hard to get good grades.
We were spending all our time with countless activities.
We were running all around after school... never going home.
We made friends from other schools and sometimes finding that we have fallen for those friends.
We fought for attention and never stop comparing.
We judged and we gossiped.
We cried and we consoled.
We hid secrets but couldn't keep them hidden.
We made innumerable life-changing decisions.
We were finding our identity.
We bloomed from a tween to a lady.
As cliche as this may sound
I wouldn't be who I am today if not for their love and support.
She ain't heavy... she's my Sista.
Today we celebrate Sistaz day with just an sms to one another.
We have our jobs and they have their studies.
We all have our own seperate set of new friends.
Each one of us have an attention-needing boyfriend.
Sad but true... we do not have the time to meet up to celebrate this day.
But in each one of our hearts lies the other two.
We will never forget how we met and what we have been through together.
These days when we are busy with our own stuffs,
just your existence makes me feel loved.
I appreciate the both of you.
Love,
Tammy
